An Asian man with cornrows jogs across the street at midnight just off Lanzit. He looks distressed and walks to the phone booth across from the sex store. “I nee you to pick me up on Bellevue … Thas out in Riverside … I facking— Jus pick me up! CLANG! He hangs up the phone. A car turns around the corner. The man slips into the sex shop. He avoids eye contact with the clerk and browses the DVD section, waiting.

“Sir, don’t linger in front of the glory hole booth” one of the staff members tells him. “I …” He decides not to say more and moves towards the shop window. A hatchback pulls up. It’s Lester.

Jackson leaves the shop and gets in the hotbox filled with smoke. “The fuck you doin out here, Jackson?” says the sunhat wearing Lester. “There was a facking card game, man. And there— there was this facking girl. Fack, man! How could I be so facking stupid.” — “Oh no, man. You got scammed, bro?” — “They still out lookin fa me, man. I wannid to take the metro but they was loitering in front of the entrance.” — “So where we goin?” — “Not home. Definitely not home.”

The duo circles the block until a car pulls up in front filled with mean-looking Chinese guys. They kidnap the duo from the car by their collar and take off in the dark of the night.

Jackson endures kicks and punches, lying on a concrete floor behind an office complex. A hand trails into Jackson’s jacket looking for his wallet. “This all you got? And you open a tab?” The bald man pockets whatever money he found. “Fucking pedo.” The four men step into the car and take off, leaving the stripped-down duo flat on the ground in the cold of night.
