Lester Louie tosses a green poker chip onto the dining table with a tribal dragon engraved on it. “I don’t think we got the tong backin us, guy.” he said to Chester. “We ain what they lookin for it seems.” Chester reclines in his seat, sipping the straw of his soda. “They too old for our shit anyway, man. They would be a liability anyways.” — “Yeuh, but this Paper Fan guy. He made me an offer.” Chester ups his chin. “I remember him. He use to hang out with those Thai guys at Golden Peacock, yeuh?” Lester nods.

Lester looks over his shoulder briefly before getting in closer. “He old school. He got prahblem wid a wolf, yeuh?” Chester hunches over enthusiastically. “Aaah— ! You nee me to go Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on this guy? No prahllem!” Lester shakes his head. “No, no, no. Is prahblem with mainland. Too big for us.” He taps the green poker chip with his index finger.

“He bring new product to supply line.” Chester slurps from his soda. “Mh-hm. We talkin— “ He taps his arm with two fingers— “or?” Louie replies: “Speed, cuz.” Chester raises his eyebrows in surprise. “We gonna host raves now? I ain sure I’m into this music, man. Is a different scene.” — “No matter.” replies Louie. “We don even have to try there. An cops stay away. Is super popular with many kids nowadays.”

“So what? We the new candy men of Melilla Bay?” Lester nods. “You could say that, bro. An Paper Fan promise me. We do well. He gi more work fa us.” Chester empties his soda. “Is jus lil stop fa us along the way, man. Consistency an determination pay off.”
