Wah Mee massacre

Mak had been dreaming about robbing a gambling joint and killing all the witnesses for years. The day before the robbery, Tony Ng gambled with Mak and owed him $1,000. Mak insisted that Tony’s debt would be forgiven if he helped him that night. But when Tony insisted to give Mak the money, Mak pulled a gun, wafted it around, and pointed it at his girlfriend, threatening to murder her and their families.

The dive bar was in a small complex. The patronages were wealthy restaurant owners and other high-rollers from across the neighborhood. Some patrons haggled to get inside that night while a few dozen were already in. The actual gambling den was preceded by two pass-through rooms with security. Mak and Tony, who were both regulars, entered the club and pulled guns, ordering everybody to get on the ground, including the three patrons who got in halfway through the robbery.

The crime scene was horrifying. The victims were tied down and their hands restrained. Tony collected all the wallets. When the cops arrived at the scene, they found the victims were dead on the ground each with the same .22 caliber bullets in their heads. They were taken down execution-style. A dozen people were killed that night in cold blood.
